Convergence - yet another meaning for me

After struggling with fatigue while reading and/or computer work for about 6 months, I finally had my eyes tested today and was diagnosed with a mild eye 'convergence' problem!  Irony... Pick up my glasses this coming Tuesday.......and I'm not yet 40!

THURS LECTURE 8-9

First introduction to Josh Nicholas, tutor Jules and my anticipated world of New Communication Technologies. Josh overviewed older forms of tech from oral communication to television then newer forms of tech including computers, mobiles, internet, email, message boards, instant messaging, blogging and social networking. Finishing on the idea of "Convergence" of all this technology.

It was then made clear from Jules in the tut later that the course should probably be called Communication Technologies - New forms of Convergence! As the newer forms of tech are really known technology with new forms of convergence.

Excited to learn more!

THURSDAY TUT 9-10:50

Worried from the previous lecture when Josh Nicholas skipped over the topic of 'blogging' as if everyone in the room OBVIOUSLY knows what this is and how to do it! Well - not this virgin blogger. I mean I have an overall appreciation of what blogging is, but not how to use it (both as the author or the reader) or how and when to take advantage of this means of communication. So looking forward to this course to bring me up to date with my teenage daughters!
